Questions & Answers
How Ehail4Us works.
Ehail4Us is a community-first transport platform in Gauteng. We connect daily commuters, drivers and car owners - with safe lift clubs, vetted drivers, and a fair deal for everyone. Here are the questions we get asked most.
General
What is Ehail4Us?
Ehail4Us is a community transport platform in Gauteng. We run lift clubs that take commuters to work on fixed daily routes, we help car owners turn their vehicles into income, and we support drivers with training, safety and steady work. It is a subsidiary of LKA Holding Investments (Pty) Ltd, proudly South African.
How does it work?
Three groups, one platform. Car owners list their vehicles. Drivers operate their own car or one matched to them, after completing our training. Commuters join a lift club on a fixed route to work. We vet and train the drivers, fit safety technology, handle the matching and manage payments - so everyone gets a safe, reliable, accountable service.
Who is Ehail4Us for?
For commuters who want safe, affordable transport to work; for drivers who want steady, reliable income; and for car owners who want an idle vehicle to start earning. You can join as any one of the three.
Where do you operate?
Across Gauteng, starting in the greater Johannesburg and East Rand area. We open new routes based on where drivers and passengers are - so the more people register from an area, the sooner a route there goes live.
Is Ehail4Us a registered business?
Yes. Ehail4Us operates under LKA Holding Investments (Pty) Ltd, a registered South African company.
For Drivers
How do I join as a driver?
Register on our site, then complete our driver training academy and pass the short assessment to get certified. Once you pass, we activate you and start matching you to work.
Do I need my own car?
Not necessarily. You can drive your own car, rent one arranged through us, or join our waiting list to be contacted the moment a rental car becomes available.
How and when do I get paid?
Drivers are paid weekly, every Friday, for completed trips. Simple and predictable.
Do I have to do training?
Yes. Every driver completes our training academy - covering road safety, vehicle care, professionalism, emergencies and our code of conduct - and passes a short assessment. You receive a certificate when you pass. It is built to keep you and your passengers safe.
What do I need to register?
A valid driver's licence with PDP (professional driving permit), your vehicle's operating licence, and your ID or passport (front and back). If you have a car, you will also add its make, plate and colour, photos of the car, the licence disk, and a screenshot of your e-hailing profile. Foreign nationals add a valid visa or work permit.
Is there a cost to join as a driver?
No. Joining Ehail4Us as a driver is free right now, including the training academy - there is no joining fee. We are focused on building a strong driver community first. If this changes in future, it will be communicated clearly and well in advance.
For Car Owners
How does car management work?
You list your car with us for free. We match it with a vetted, certified driver, fit tracking, and manage the day to day. Your car works for you while we handle the running of it.
Is it free to list my car?
Yes. Listing your vehicle with Ehail4Us is free.
Do I have to hand my car over, or can you just advertise it?
You choose. You can place your car under full Ehail4Us management, or simply have us advertise it to our driver members and facilitate the connection for you. You select what you want when you register.
Who will drive my car?
A vetted, trained and certified Ehail4Us driver - never just anyone. Every driver is verified before they operate.
Is my car protected?
Yes. Vehicles run with GPS tracking and a dashcam, and every arrangement is covered by a clear written agreement that protects you.
My car is not running - can I still list it?
Yes, you can still register it. Tell us its condition and we will discuss the options with you.
For Commuters (Lift Club)
What is the Lift Club?
Fixed-route daily transport to work. The same trusted, vetted driver collects you on a set route, at a set time, for one simple monthly price. Safe, reliable, and the same seat every working day.
How much does it cost?
One simple monthly plan for your route - no surge pricing and no surprises. Tell us where you travel from and to, and we will give you the exact price for your trip.
How do I pay?
You pay monthly, in advance, through our business account. It is safe and transparent - no risky cash deals with a stranger.
How do I get a route?
Register with your route - where you travel from and to. A route goes live once enough riders have signed up for it, so the sooner you register, the sooner it can start.
There is no route in my area yet. What now?
Register your route anyway. We open routes based on demand, and yours could be the next to go live. Your sign-up helps us see where people need us most.
What if my driver cannot make it one day?
We work to keep your route covered so you are not left stranded. Reliability is the whole point of a lift club.
Safety & Privacy
How do you check your drivers?
We verify each driver's ID and documents, check their licence, and require them to complete training and certification before they operate. Drivers also declare their criminal history on registration, with formal police clearance introduced over time.
What safety measures are in place?
GPS tracking and dashcams on trips, verified driver profiles, and accountability on both sides - drivers and passengers. Safety is built into how we operate, not added as an afterthought.
Is my personal information safe?
Yes. Your details and any documents you provide are stored securely and privately, and used only to provide the service, in line with South Africa's POPIA law.
Payments & Money
How is money handled?
Commuters pay monthly in advance into our business account. Drivers are paid weekly for completed trips. Everything runs through the platform, transparently - not informal cash deals.
Do you take a commission?
We take a small commission to run and grow the platform and keep the service safe and reliable. Drivers keep their share of what they earn.
What about refunds?
Refunds and related terms are set out in our
Terms and Conditions. If something goes wrong, talk to us - we are here to sort it out fairly.
